Inside Out is one of the animation movies that I am really looking forward to this year, as it marks the return of Pixar.
Inside Out is another adventurous and imaginative piece of animation cinema from Pixar, as this new film takes us inside the mind to explore the power of our emotions.
The movie marks the return of Pete Docter to the director's chair. Docter made his feature film directorial debut with Monster Inc back in 2001, and this is his first film since the terrific Up.
Monsters Inc and Up are two of my favourite Pixar movies and I can't wait to see Docter at the helm once again - this new trailer promises that we are going to get another gem of a movie. The new trailer is here - check it out:
As you would expect, a great voice cast has been assembled as Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Bill Hader, Mindy Kaling, and Lewis Black are on board as Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, and Anger. Diane Lane and Kyle MacLachlan complete the voice cast.
Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions - Joy (Poehler), Fear (Hader), Anger (Black), Disgust (Kaling) and Sadness (Smith).
The emotions live in Headquarters, the control centre inside Riley's mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters.
Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.
Inside Out is released 24th July.
