Warner Bros 'Tarzan' is set to open in theatres July 1 2016 and will see Alexander Skarsgard play the loin clothed hero.
Skarsgard is set to play the loin clothed hero and Margot Robbie - who had her breakout role in the 'Wolf of Wall Street' this year - has been linked to the role of Tarzan's love interest, Jane, in the film adaptation of Edgar Rice's classic novel, according to deadline.com.
Samuel L Jackson is also set to star in the film that is set to hit the big screen on July 1 2016, along with his 'Django Unchained' co-star Christoph Waltz.
Meanwhile, Jerry Weintraub, David Barron and Alan Riche are on board to produce the 3D live-action film which is currently in pre-production after the studio delayed the project last spring.
The film will revisit the tale of Tarzan, who returns to London as a man having been orphaned as a baby and raised in the jungle by apes.
The newest adaptation is set to offer a new spin on the story which has seen a number of incarnations over the years.
Elmo Lincoln was the first actor to portray the adult Tarzan in silent movie 'Tarzan Of The Apes' in 1918, before Olympic swimmer Johnny Weissmuller took the tile role in 12 instalments of the film from 1932 until 1948 starting with 'Tarzan the Ape Man'.
Most notably Disney took on the character for the 1999 animated film which even went on to have a prequel 'Tarzan II' in 2005 which told the story of the eponymous hero as a young boy.
