Viola Davis reveals that she was fascinated by the character of Amanda Walker in Suicide Squad and that is what drew her to the role.
Davis is the latest big name to join the all-star cast of the upcoming comic book movie as she takes on the role of government agent Walter in the Warner Bros film.
Davis has described Walker as a 'massive contradiction' and says she is excited to start exploring her.
Speaking to Nerd Report, Davis said: "I'm fascinated by her. I'm fascinated by her in this world of superhero-ness because she is not a woman that you would expect. I think that she is a massive contradiction.
"She's this big powerful black woman, hard, ready to pick up a gun and shoot anyone at will. I'm fascinated in exploring her psychology, just put it that way. And I'm excited to pick up a gun."
Suicide Squad is based on the DC Comic of the same name and will see David Ayer - who has been behind Fury and End of Watch - back in the director's chair.
Tom Hardy, Jai Courtney, Jared Leto Will Smith and Margot Robbie are already on board as Rick Flag, Boomerang, The Joker,Deadshot, and Harley Quinn, while Jesse Eisenberg to linked to making an appearance as Lex Luthor.
Filming is set to get underway in Canada in April and we are going to have to wait until summer 2016 until the movie hits the big screen.
As for Davis, she will be back in February with Blackhat and has also completed work on Lila and Eve with Jennifer Lopez.
Suicide Squad is released 5th August 2016.
