Ving Rhames will be part of the Mission: Impossible 5 cast list.
Rhames has played Luther Stickell in the popular action franchise, and is set to return to that role for the fifth instalment.
Christopher McQuarrie is in the director's chair and announced Rhames' involvement in the project on his Twitter account.
The director wrote: "Welcome back, Mr. Rhames. cc: @TomCruise @simonpegg @Renner4Real #MI5Diary".
Cruise will be reprising the role of Ethan Hunt in the film, while Pegg and Renner will be reprising their roles of Benji Dunn and William Brandt.
Mission: Impossible 5 will see McQuarrie take up the reigns of the franchise for the first time: he reunites with Cruise for the first since Jack Reacher.
As for Rhames, he has completed work on Minkow and The Sunday Horse and is currently working on Before The Dawn.
Mission: Impossible 5 is released 26th December 2015.
