Vin Diesel has hinted that a sequel to The Iron Giant could be on the horizon.
Diesel voiced the title character when the much-loved animation film hit the big screen back in 1999. The film was directed by Brad Bird, while Eli Marienthal, Harry Connick Jr., and Jennifer Aniston all lent their voice to the film.
When Diesel took on this role he was relatively unknown he revealed that The Iron Giant was one of his favourite movie parts.
Taking to Facebook to talk about the film, Diesel said: "I have been very lucky to have played so many interesting characters... one of the first and one of my favourites is... the Iron Giant.
"P.S. Don't be surprised when you hear WB announce the sequel."
There is currently no word from Warner Bros it is not known if Brad Bird will return to the director's chair for the film. We already know that Bird is set to direct the highly anticipated The Incredibles 2.
It has been a very busy year for Diesel who has enjoyed billion dollar box office success with Fast & Furious 7 back in April An eighth film in the franchise looks set to go ahead.
Diesel will be back on the big screen this autumn with The Last Witch Hunter and the actor has already announced that a sequel to this will go ahead.
Diesel will also be returning to the role of Xander Cage in a new xXx movie, while Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will hit the big screen in 2017.
