Vanessa Kirby "ate loads" and "got very drunk" when Tom Cruise broke his ankle on the 'Mission: Impossible 6' set.
The 29-year-old actress has had to work hard to stay in shape for her leading role in the upcoming blockbuster, so when news broke that production would be going on hold after her co-star got injured while filming a stunt, she was delighted to relax her diet and exercise regime.
Asked what she did when the news came through, she said: "I ate loads that day. And I got very drunk."
Ahead of her first meeting with Tom, Vanessa binge-watched all five previous films in the franchise.
She admitted: "Yeah, it did fry my mind."
Vanessa is best known for playing the late Princess Margaret in 'The Crown' and she admitted she wishes "so much" that she could get drunk with Queen Elizabeth's younger sister.
She told GQ magazine: "She'd be really fun. She was the coolest person. I'm such a Margaret pervert."
Vanessa immersed herself in researching the life of the princess when she landed the role in the Netflix series and one of her favourite stories was of Margaret having a toilet built as a throne.
She gushed: "When I thought was brilliant."
Studio Paramount announced in August production on 'Mission: Impossible 6' had been delayed due to Tom's injury, but reassured fans of the franchise this shouldn't affect its release date.
They said in a statement: "During production on the latest 'Mission: Impossible' film, Tom Cruise broke his ankle while performing a stunt.
"Production will go on hiatus while Tom makes a full recovery, and the film remains on schedule to open July 27, 2018.
"Tom wants to thank you all for your concern and support and can't wait to share the film with everyone next summer."
