Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets is one of the most anticipated films at this year's Comic-Con in San Diego and a fab new image from the film has been released.
Luc Besson is set to head the Comic-Con panel for the film as he returns to the director's chair.
Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets is based on the French sci-fi comic series Valérian and Laureline, written by Pierre Christin and illustrated by Jean-Claude Mézières and has been adapted for the big screen by Besson.
Dane DeHaan is set to take on the central role of Valérian and features in this great first image.
The director has brought together a fantastic cast as Cara Delevingne, Clive Owen, Sam Spruell, Rihanna, Ethan Hawke, and John Goodman are all set to star.
Besson has brought us movies such as Leon, Nikita, and The Fifth Element during his career and this is his first feature since the success of Lucy back in 2014.
Valerian (DeHaan) and Laureline (Delevingne) are special operatives for the government of the human territories charged with maintaining order throughout the universe. Valerian has more in mind than a professional relationship with his partner - blatantly chasing after her with propositions of romance. But his extensive history with women, and her traditional values, drive Laureline to continuously rebuff him.
Under directive from their Commander (Owen), Valerian and Laureline embark on a mission to the breathtaking intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis comprised of thousands of different species from all four corners of the universe. Alpha's seventeen million inhabitants have converged over time- uniting their talents, technology, and resources for the betterment of all.
Unfortunately, not everyone on Alpha shares in these same objectives; in fact, unseen forces are at work, placing our race in great danger.
Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets arrives in cinemas 2017!
