Tye Sheridan calls Steven Spielberg a 'living legend'.
Sheridan is set to about to star to start working with Spielberg for the first time later this year, having been cast in Ready Player One.
The young actor has landed the role of Wade Owen Watts / Parzival in the sci-fi/thriller - around which there is already a lot of buzz and excitement.
And Sheridan reveals that just auditioning for a Spielberg movie was a thrill. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the actor said:
"He's like a living legend. "Just having the opportunity to walk into a room, shake his hand, and audition for one of his films was one of the greatest experiences."
A great cast has already been assembled for Ready Player One, which is an adaptation of the novel by Ernest Cline, as Simon Pegg, Olivia Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn, and Oscar-winner Mark Rylance are also on board.
Sheridan is a young actor who really is on the rise and he is back on the big screen this May with X-Men: Apocalypse.
X-Men: Apocalypse is the biggest film of his career to date and will see him play a younger version of Cyclops. He is one of the new additions to the cast list, alongside Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, and Kodi Smit-McPhee, who will play younger versions of Jean Grey, Storm, and Nightcrawler.
The actor has also completed work on The Yellow Birds and Grass Stains - both movies are due out later this year.
