If crime/drama is your thing, then Triple 9 is a movie that you cannot afford to miss in the new year.

Triple 9 is a movie that I have been looking forward to for some time and marks the return of John Hillcoat to the director's chair. Hillcoat has brought us movies such as The Proposition and The Road and this is his first feature since Lawless back in 2012.
Triple 9 is already looking like it is going to be one of the best crime dramas of 2016 and the first UK trailer has finally arrived - and it really is a who's who when it comes to the cast list:
The beginning of 2016 already boasts some great ensemble line-ups and Triple 9 is another that has terrific acting talent where ever you look.
Oscar winner Kate Winslet is on board and is joined by Chiwetel Ejiofor, Casey Affleck Woody Harrelson, Aaron Paul, Anthony Mackie, Norman Reedus, Gal Gadot, and Clifton Collins Jr.
When a crew of dirty cops is blackmailed by the Russian mob to execute a virtually impossible heist, they realise the only way to pull it off is to manufacture a 999, police code for "officer down".
The chaos that ensues when a police officer is shot in the line of duty is just the diversion they'll need to do the job, but whether they have the will to kill one of their own is an entirely different matter, triggering a breakneck, action packed finale tangled with double-crosses, greed and revenge.
If you are a film fan then the first few months of 2016 are going to be a real treat as there are some fantastic films on the horizon... Triple 9 really is up there as one that is not to be missed.
