Netflix is getting some amazing content on its streaming service this year, including Ryan Reynolds movie, Red Notice. However, a return to the old west is on its way to excite audiences in the form of The Harder They Fall.
Jonathan Majors and Idris Elba take centre stage in this Western-themed feature, and fans appear to be more than ready to witness this old school standoff.
Majors is an American actor who was recently seen in the Marvel Studios original series Loki on Disney+, and will now be entering the past in Netflix’s upcoming action adventure.
We all know Elba for also playing a role within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU); the actor played Heimdall, the watcher and protector of Asgard.
Both actors have a stone-cold yet comical presence, and are more than capable of heading up roles such as the ones they have landed in The Harder They Fall.
When outlaw Nat Love (Majors) finds out his mortal enemy, Rufus Buck (Elba), is being released from jail, he gathers a gang to track him down and exact revenge.
Riding with Love in this noteworthy, thrilling new school Western include former flame Stagecoach Mary (Zazie Beetz), his right and left hand men, always-angry Bill Pickett (Edi Gathegi) and quick draw master Jim Beckwourth (R.J. Cycler), along with a shocking foe-turned-ally...
Buck, however, has his own crew of outlaws, including ‘Treacherous’ Trudy Smith (Regina King) and Cherokee Bill (LaKeith Stanfield); this is not a group that takes no for an answer, nor do they spend much time on the losing team.
The trailer for The Harder We Fall sees Elba as a stoic, strong-and-silent type as he takes control of his unorthodox gang. We also see Majors command the screen as his cowboy act proves to be both bark and bite.
With the mass of movies releasing recently that focus on the future or the present, and deal with complex situations, it will be a breath of fresh air to see The Harder They Fall grace both the big and small screen.
Directed by Jeymes Samuel, written by Samuel and Boaz Yakin, produced by Shawn Carter, James Lassiter, Lawrence Bender and Jeymes Samuel, featuring a stunning soundtrack and an outstanding all-star cast including Danielle Deadwyler, Damon Wayans Jr., and Deon Cole – revenge will be white hot.
The Harder They Fall will be in select cinemas on October 22nd 2021, and on Netflix from November 3rd, 2021.
