Tom Hiddleston tries to avoids social media because its not a real take on life.
social media "distorted reflection" of society
The 32-year actor admits he prefers to stay away from the likes of Twitter and Facebook because he believes it gives off a "distorted reflection" of society and doesn't give him a true idea of his fans.
In Collider, he said: "I try to stay away from it to be honest because I think it becomes a distorted reflection. The enthusiasm I find is quite belying and it's just gratifying that there are people out there who are just interested in the work and the performances and the characters."
Hiddleston currently starring in 'Thor: The Dark World' believes it's important to respect his fans because without them admiring his career, he insists he'd be in no position to be referred to as an actor.
"I always think an actor can't call themselves an actor without an audience, so if the audience is there then that's great."
Tom previously admitted he wanted to play the hammer-wielding hero in 'Thor' before being cast as his evil brother Loki in the superhero franchise.
He recently said: "I auditioned and I swung the hammer but they were always looking for Loki as well, and I think the closer I got, they were like, 'You should play the bad guy'."
