Toby Kebbell is the latest actor who has been linked to a role in the Ben Hur remake.
Variety has reported that the British actor has already met with MGM and Paramount to discuss the possibility of playing Messala in the new film.
The original Ben Hur movie was released back in 1959, and was an adaptation of the novel Ben Hur: A Tale of the Christ by Lew Wallace.
The movie went on to make Oscar history, as it became the first film to win 11 Academy Awards: including Best Picture.
Jack Huston is already aboard the film in the central role of Judah Ben-Hur, while Morgan Freeman has also landed the role of Ildarin.
The remake is scheduled to be released in November 2016.
Kebbell enjoyed box office success this summer as he took on the role of Koba in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
The movie was a critical success and has grossed in excess of $673 million at the global box office.
Kebbell has also completed work on Buddha's Little Finger, The Fantastic Four, and Warcraft.
