Thor: The Dark World
Thor: The Dark World has stormed to the top of the UK box office and toppling Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2 from the top spot.
Thor: The Dark World is the second solo film for this popular character and the first time that we have seen Chris Hemsworth take on this role since the success of Avengers Assemble.
The movie took over £8.6 million in its opening weekend as it comfortably saw off the competition from everyone - the movie will be opening in the U.S. this weekend.
Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2 fell just a single place to two, while Captain Phillips was also down one at three.
Philomena has been one of the most talked about movies in recent weeks as Judi Dench returns to the big screen. The touching real-life story was a new entry at four. Turbo fell a single place as it rounded off the top five.
Jackass: Bad Grandpa was down three places this week at six, while Ender’s Games was down two at seven. Krrish 3 has been breaking box office records in India and it was the third and final new entry at eight.
Once Chance and Escape Plan both fell three places as they finished the weekend at nine and ten.
