Tom Hiddleston has hinted that Thor: Ragnarok could be his final outing as Loki.
Hiddleston is set to return to the popular character in the third Thor film, which is set to star filming later this year.
This will be the first time that we have seen him play Loki since Thor: The Dark World - he was set to make an appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron before his scenes were cut from the final edit.
However, it looks like this may be the last time we see him take on this role. Speaking to The Daily Beast, the actor said: "Thor 3 will be cool because I've not done it for four years. I love working with Chris [Hemsworth]. This will be my last time out of the gate."
But asked about whether or not he may turn up in Avengers: Infinity War, the actor continued: "I don't know! Honestly, I don't know. They haven't got their ducks in a row yet. They make it up as they go along."
The role of Loki sent Hiddleston's star rocketing when he starred in Thor - alongside Hemsworth - back in 2011. He went on to play the main villain in Avengers Assemble a year later.
Hiddleston will reunite with Hemsworth for Thor: Ragnarok, while Mark Ruffalo and Cate Blanchett are the two big additions to the cast list.
Ruffalo will reprise the role of Bruce Banner in what will be his first appearance outside of the Avengers franchise and it has not yet been announced which role Blanchett will be playing.
Taika Waititi is in the director's chair for Thor: Ragnarok in what will be the first Marvel film of his career.
As for Hiddleston, he has enjoyed success on the big and small screen so far this year with High-Rise and series The Night Manager. The actor has been filming Kong: Skull Island.
Should Hiddleston leave the Marvel world behind, does this signal his interest in the role of Bond? After his stint in The Night Manager, he has become the second favourite - behind Tom Hardy - to take over from Daniel Craig.
