Thomas Jane is in talks to join the cast of 'The Predator'.
The 47-year-old actor is reportedly in final negotiations with Twentieth Century Fox to take up a role in the reboot of the popular 1987 sci-fi movie which will be helmed by director Shane Black - who previously starred in the original as Rick Hawkins, who was the first to die at the hands of the titular character.
Thomas' casting announcement comes after Sterling K. Brown, Keegan-Michael Key, and Trevante Rhodes, were all recently announced as joining the movie as it prepares to head to production in Vancouver in February.
Details about Thomas' role are not yet known, as much of the plot details are also being kept under wraps by the studio and its production team.
Boyd Holbrook is set to star alongside Olivia Munn in the movie's lead role, which is said to involve an array of the alien hunters first made famous in the 1987 movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The casting of Boyd comes after the movie's original lead actor, Benicio Del Toro, reportedly fell out with the studio over scheduling disagreements and dropped out of the production.
The actor was wanted by Fox for months and they had overcome an initial issue over his scheduling before pushing back the start date of filming to February so the star - who is to portray a villain in 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' later this year - could appear in the movie.
Black has already revealed the main character's name in his 'Predator' movie will be Quinn McKenna.
He said: "The hero of the film, the name I've given the guy, is Quinn McKenna. Quinn McKenna. Rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?"
Joel Silver, John Davis and Lawrence Gordon will produce the film.
