Taika Waititi has revealed that there are 'no rules' when making a Marvel film.
Waititi is set to tackle a Marvel movie for the first time after being announced as the director for Thor: Ragnarok; the third solo film in the Thor franchise.
This will be the first Marvel movie for Waititi and he says that the studio will 'tear everything down' in the search for the best story.
Speaking to Collider, the director said: "I've learned that there are really no rules. There's no road map. They're very similar to Pixar in that way. They are constantly looking for the best story, they'll tear everything down to rebuild it to make sure they have the best story.
"That's why Marvel is good, they keep pushing and pushing and trying to get the best thing possible. That's what I've discovered the way things have changed."
Waititi has brought us movies such as Eagle Vs Shark, Boy and What We Do in the Shadows during his career but Thor: Ragnarok is set to be his biggest movie to date.
The movie will see Chris Hemsworth return to the title role while Tom Hiddleston is also set to return as Loki.
Mark Ruffalo is stepping out of the Avengers franchise for the first time as he reprises the role of Bruce Banner. Oscar winner Cate Blanchett has been linked to the role of the film's villain and was in talks to come on board.
Filming is set to get underway later this year and with be the third of three Marvel films to be released in 2017. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 and Spider-Man will hit the big screen before Thor: Ragnarok is released in the autumn.
This will be the first time that we have seen Thor since Avengers: Age of Ultron and Thor: Ragnarok looks set to build up to Avengers: Infinity War.
Thor: Ragnarok is released 27th October.
