The Wolverine

The Wolverine

The Wolverine has stormed to the top of the U.S. box office to claim the #1 spot.

Hugh Jackman is back in the title role of the film, in what was the only new entry inside the top ten this week.

The movie, which is the second stand alone film for this character, comfortably saw off the challenge from The Conjuring; which has spent just one week in the number one position.

The Conjuring fell just a single place to number two, while Despicable Me 2 was also down just one place at three.

There were also single place drops for both Turbo and Grown Ups 2 as they rounded off the top five at four and five.

Red 2 was out of the top five this week as it dropped one place to six, Pacific Rim was also down one place at seven.

But there was no change at number eight as comedy The Heat was the only none-mover on the chart this week.

R.I.P.D. was the biggest faller this week as it dropped two places from seven to nine.

Fruitvale Station was the only movie inside the top ten on the up, as it had jumped seven places from seventeen to ten.
