The Wolf of Wall Street has toppled 12 Years A Slave at the top of the UK box office.

The Wolf of Wall Street marks the return of Martin Scorsese to the director's chair as he reunites with Leonardo DiCaprio.

The movie took £4.6 million in its opening weekend to end the reign of 12 Years A Slave.

12 Years A Slave slipped just a single place at two, as it took a further £3,05 million.

It was a great week for the film last week, as it picked up nine OScar nominations, including Best Picture.

American Hustle was also down one spot, while there was no move for Frozen at number four.

Devil's Due was the second new entry inside the top ten this week as it opens at five.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug was this week's biggest faller as it dropped three places from three to six.

Last Vegas, The Railway Man and Delivery Man were all down two places at seven, eight and nine.

Gravity was re-released into cinemas over the weekend to drum up Oscar support, it opened at ten.
