Peyton Reed says the Ant-Man sequel will explore the character of the Wasp much further than in the first film.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to hit the big screen in 2018 and will see Reed back in the director's chair. Reed will reunite with Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly, who will reprise the title roles.
While we did see Lily in the first film, she will take on more of a superhero role second time around - something that was hinted at at the end of Ant-Man.
Speaking to EW, the director said: "Evangeline is an amazing actress. The first movie was really about her coming into her own as a hero, even though we didn't see her suit up yet.
"So we're so excited about now being able to show her fully formed and what she is as a superhero. Her power set, how she fights, and what are the injustices that matter to her that she wants to right. That's part of the really fun thing of the next movie."
We are going to see Paul Rudd reprise the role of Ant-Man later this month in Captain America: Civil War. We still don't know if we will see him in either of the upcoming Avengers Infinity War movies.
Civil War writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely revealed earlier this week that the Wasp was almost involved in the new Captain America film.
Ant-Man was the first Marvel film for Reed last year and the movie went on to gross over $519 million by the end of its theatrical run.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is released summer 2018.
