The Voices is set to be a movie to watch out for in March as Ryan Reynolds returns to the big screen in this new dark comedy crime thriller. A Reynolds takes centre stage in this brand new UK poster for the film.
The movie marks the return of Marjane Satrapi to the director's chair - who was behind the wonderful animation film Persepolis back in 2008 - and this is the fourth movie project of her filmmaking career to date. This is also her first film since The Gang of the Jotas back in 2012.
Satrapi has brought together a terrific cast for The Voices, as Ryan Reynolds Gemma Arterton, Anna Kendrick, and Jacki Weaver. As well as starring in the central role of Jerry, Reynolds will also voice the characters of Mr Whiskers and Bosco.
Jerry (Reynolds) works at a bathtub factory and attempts to walk the straight-and-narrow, in spite of his talking pet dog and cat trying to influence him. When he accidentally kills an attractive woman from accounting (Arterton), he hastily tries to cover his tracks.
But Jerry is beyond the reach of his well-meaning psychiatrist Dr. Warren (Weaver) and Lisa (Kendrick), the only woman he ever truly loved, and spirals into a world of violence where he ultimately finds salvation.
The Voices premiered at the Sundance Film Festival at the beginning of last year, and finally the film is set to hit UK cinemas in the middle of next month. This is unlike anything that we have seen Reynolds star in before and I am looking forward to seeing what he delivers with this role and this movie.
