Maggie Smith is a fave here at FemaleFirst and she is set to return to the big screen this autumn in The Lady In The Van.
The Lady In The Van sees Nicholas Hytner return to the director's chair for the first time since The History Boys. while Alan Bennett has penned the screenplay.
The movie is based on a true story from Bennett's life and will see Alex Jennings play the writer in the film.
The Lady in the Van follows the relationship between Bennett and the singular Miss Shepherd, a woman of uncertain origins who 'temporarily' parked her van in Bennett's London driveway and proceeded to live there for 15 years.
The first trailer for the film has arrived and we have it for you to take a look at:
Jennings will play Bennett in the film, while Smith is on board as Miss Shepherd. The pair are joined by Dominic Cooper, James Corden, Jim Broadbent, Frances de la Tour, and Roger Allam.
Hytner and Bennett last teamed up for The History Boys - which was an adaptation of the play by Bennett - the writer adapted the play into a script. The movie went on to enjoy huge success back in 2006. I really am looking forward to see these two team up once again.
