The Imitation Game

The Imitation Game

We are counting down to The Imitation Game here at FemaleFirst, and is set to be one of the November movies not to miss.

The Imitation Game is a movie that has been whipping up a storm on the festival circuit, and it is set to be the role that sends Benedict Cumberbatch's rocketing even further.

Cumberbatch is set to take on the central role of Alan Turing, who played a huge role in cracking the Enigma Code.

The Imitation Game sees Morten Tyldum back in the director's chair, in what is his first film since the success of Headhunters back in 2012.

And Tyldum has brought together a terrific cast as Keira Knightley, Mark Strong, Charles Dance, and Matthew Goode are all on board.

The Imitation Game is a nail-biting race against time following Alan Turing (pioneer of modern-day computing and credited with cracking the German Enigma code) and his brilliant team at Britain's top-secret code-breaking centre, Bletchley Park, during the darkest days of World War II.

Turing, whose contributions and genius significantly shortened the war, saving thousands of lives, was the eventual victim of an unenlightened British establishment, but his work and legacy live on.

The Imitation Game won the People's Choice award for Best Film at the Toronto International Film Festival, before going on to open the BFI London Film Festival.

This is a film that is already surrounded in Oscar talk - we could see Cumberbatch in the Oscar race by the beginning of next year.

The Imitation Game is released 14th November.
