The Imitation Game is the film that everyone has been talking about the last couple of weeks after it scooped the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The Imitation Game sees Benedict Cumberbatch take on the central role of Alan Turing, and the actor takes centre stage in this brand new character poster for the film.
The film will explore the character and life of Turing, who played a pivotal role in cracking the Enigma Code during the Second World War. Keira Knightley, Mark Strong, and Charles Dance make up a very strong and exciting cast list.
There is already a lot of chatter and excitement surrounding this movie, with many tipping it as a possible Oscar contender come the beginning of next year. Will it be nominated for Best Picture? Could we see Cumberbatch in the Best Actor Oscar race for the first time? I guess we are just going to have to wait and see.
The film is set to be thrown even more into the spotlight at the beginning of October, as it is set to open the BFI London Film Festival - we are finally going to get the chance to see what all of the fuss is about.
Alan Turing was the genius British mathematician, logician, cryptologist and computer scientist who led the charge to crack the German Enigma Code that helped the Allies win WWII.
Turing went on to assist with the development of computers at the University of Manchester after the war, but was prosecuted by the UK government in 1952 for homosexual acts, which the country deemed illegal.
The Imitation Game is released 14th November.
