The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 Makes It A Month As UK #1 Film

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 has made it four consecutive weeks at the top of the UK box office in what was a quiet weekend.

There's no doubt that this is the final week in the #1 spot for Mockingjay - Part 2 as Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in cinemas tomorrow and is set to be a global smash.

There were no new entries in the top then this week and only The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 and The Good Dinosaur grossed over £1 million over the weekend.

The Good Dinosaur, which is the latest offering from Pixar, was a non-mover at two, while Spectre stayed put at number three.

Spectre has now grossed over £92 million at the UK box office and has taken over $821 million worldwide during its theatrical run so far.

Bridge of Spies and Christmas with the Cooper rounded off an unchanged top five as they were also none-movers at four and five.

The Lady in the Van - which boasts a fantastic central performance from Maggie Smith - was up one this week as it swapped places with gangster film Black Mass, which slipped one to number seven. Johnny Depp may have been overlooked at the Golden Globes, but he picked up a Best Actor nomination at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Krampus jumped once place from nine to number eight, while critically acclaimed Carol was up one from number nine. Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara both picked up acting nominations this week as their work was recognised by the Golden Globes and the SAGs.

Victor Frankenstein rounded off the top ten this week as it slipped two places from last week's number eight.
