The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug has made it a second week at the top of the U.S. box office.
The Desolation of Smaug took a further $31.4 million over the weekend to hold off the challenge from Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues and keep the #1 spot.
The Peter Jackson directed film has so far grossed in excess of $403 million in its first two weeks on release.
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues was the highest new entry at number two as Ron Burgundy returned to the big screen.
It is nearly ten years since the release of the first film, but Will Ferrell and co are all returning to their roles.
Frozen fell just a single place this week to three, while American Hustle was up eleven places from fifteen to four.
Saving Mr Banks was another movie that was on the way up as it jumped thirteen spots from eighteen to number five,
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire dropped out of the top five as it fell two places from four to six. There was also a four place drop for Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas.
Walking with Dinosaurs and Dhoom 3 were the final new entries inside the top ten this week as they opened at eight and nine.
Thor: The Dark World was this week's biggest faller as it dropped five places to ten.
