The Hatton Garden robbery was one of the most infamous crimes and talked about events of 2015 - it seemed only a matter of time until it was turned into a movie.
And this story will be turned into a movie as cameras have started rolling this week and will be shooting around London.
A great cast has been assembled for the film as Larry Lamb, Stephen Moyer, Phil Daniels, David Calder, Clive Russell, Matthew Goode, Joely Richardson, Sarah-Jane Crawford, and Mark Harris are all set to star.
The movie sees Ronnie Thompson back in the director's chair for the third feature film of his career; coming after Tower Block and I Am Soldier.
Thompson has also teamed up with Dean Lines, and Ray Bogdanovich to pen the film's screenplay.
Currently shooting on location in and around London, the film picks up with a mysterious thief, who is presented with an opportunity to take down the exclusive Hatton Garden Vault just days after leaving prison. It's an old school job, requiring old school skills.
With real life twists and turns as though written for a movie, The Hatton Garden Job follows our convict recruiting a team of veteran British criminals all eager for one final chance at glory. Together they must stay ahead of the law, dodge hired mercenaries and make deals with the head of the Hungarian mafia.
Signature Entertainment has secured the UK distribution rights for the film and The Hatton Garden Job is expected to be released later this year.
