Matthew McConaughey is currently on set filming his latest movie The Free State of Jones and STX Entertainment have released two new images from the film.

The Free State of Jones sees the Oscar winner team up with filmmaker and writer Gary Ross for the first time as he returns to the director's chair for the first time since the success of The Hunger Games.
Sadly, The Free State of Jones is a movie that won't be hitting the big screen until 2016 and yet it is already one of the films of next year that I am really looking forward to.
The movie is based on the true story of Newt Knight, a farmer who led a rebellion against the Confederacy during the Civil War. McConaughey will take on the role of Knight in the film and features in these two great new images:
A great cast has been assembled for the film, as McConaughey is joined by Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Keri Russell , Mahershala Ali, and Sean Bridgers.
Set during the Civil War, The Free State of Jones tells the story of defiant Southern farmer, Newt Knight, and his extraordinary armed rebellion against the Confederacy. Banding together with other small farmers and with the assistance of local slaves, Knight launched an uprising that led Jones County, Mississippi to secede from the Confederacy, creating a Free State of Jones.
His marriage to a former slave, Rachel, and his subsequent establishment of a mixed race community was unique in the post-war South. Knight continued his struggle into Reconstruction, distinguishing him as a compelling, if controversial, figure of defiance long beyond the War.
The Free State of Jones is released 11th March 2016 in the U.S. A UK release date has not yet been announced.
