The Fault In Our Stars

The Fault In Our Stars has toppled 22 Jump Street from the top of the UK box office.

The Fault In Our Stars is a big screen adaptation of the novel of the same name by John Green, and sees Shailene Woodley take on the central role.

The movie took over £3.4 million in its opening weekend, to take over the top spot from 22 Jump Street.

22 Jump Street - which has performed well in the UK and U.S. - fell just a single place this week to number two.

Maleficent, X-Men: Days of Future Past and Edge of Tomorrow were all also down one place at three, four, and five.

The movie marks the return of Clint Eastwood in the director's chair, as he explores the career of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

3 Days to Kill was also new at seven, while Belle was down two places at eight. Oculus was the biggest faller this week, as it was down four places at nine.
