The Danish Girl is already one of the most talked about films of 2016 and the first official poster for the movie has been unveiled.

The movie sees Tom Hooper return to the director's chair for the first time since Les Miserables as he reunites with actor Eddie Redmayne for the first time since the success of the hit musical.
Redmayne is set to take on the central role of Einar Wegener/Lili Elbe, one of the first known recipients of sexual reassignment surgery. We haven't seen a single frame of the film so far and yet, Redmayne is already being tipped to be in the Oscar race.
It was earlier this year that he scooped the Best Actor Oscar for his performance in The Theory of Everything... could he win this gong two years on the trot? This feat has not been achieved since Tom Hanks won for Philadelphia and Forrest Gump.
Alicia Vikander will take on the role of Gerda Wegener in the film, while Ben Whishaw, Sebastian Koch, Amber Heard, and Matthias Schoenaerts make up an impressive and exciting cast list.
The movie is set to screen in the main competition section at the Venice Intentional Film Festival next week before going on to screen at the Toronto International Film Festival later in September.
The Danish Girl is the remarkable love story inspired by the lives of artists Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener (Redmayne and Vikander). Lili and Gerda's marriage and work evolve as they navigate Lili's groundbreaking journey as a transgender pioneer.
The Danish Girl is released New Year's Day 2016.
