The Conjuring has topped the U.S. box office.
The movie sees James Wan return to the director's chair to tell the true story of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.
The movie took $41.5 million in its opening weekend to topple Despicable Me 2 from the top spot.
Despicable Me 2 fell just a single place as it took a further $25 million over the weekend. The movie has now taken in excess of $584 million worldwide.
Turbo was another new entry at three as Dreamworks' success continues in 2013; the follows on from hit The Croods at the beginning of the year.
Grown Ups 2 was down two at four, while Red 2 was a third new entry inside the top five at five.
Pacific Rim fell out of the top five as it dropped three places to six. R.I.P.D. was the fourth and final new entry inside the top ten this week at seven.
It is also the second film for Ryan Reynolds on the chart this week; he also lends his voice to the central character in Turbo.
The Heat was one of the biggest fallers on the chart as it was down four from four to eight.
World War Z was down two at nine. Monsters University was also down four, as it rounded off the top ten.
