The 5th Wave is set to mark the return of Chloe Grace Moretz to the big screen as she leads the cast in the latest young adult novel to get the big screen treatment.

Moretz is set to follow in the footsteps of Jennifer Lawrence and Shailene Woodley as she takes on the central role of Cassie in 5th Wave. The movie is a big screen adaptation of the book of the same name by Rick Yancey, which is the first in a trio of books.

Moretz takes on the role of Cassie is joined on the cast list by Nick Robinson, Alex Roe, Maika Monroe, Maggie Siff, Maria Bello, and Ron Livingston. The movie also marks the return of J Blakeson to the director's chair.
The 5th Wave is the second feature film of Blakeson's career and comes nearly six years since he made his debut with The Disappearance of Alice Creed. This also marks the first time that the filmmaker has teamed up with Moretz.
In the new film The 5th Wave, four waves of increasingly deadly attacks have left most of Earth decimated. Against a backdrop of fear and distrust, Cassie (Moretz) is on the run, desperately trying to save her younger brother. As she prepares for the inevitable and lethal 5th wave, Cassie teams up with a young man who may become her final hope - if she can only trust him.
The 5th Wave is released 22nd January.
