Tangerine

Tangerine is an independent comedy/drama that premiered at the Sundance Film festival at the beginning of the year and is now heading to London.

The movie marks the return of Sean Baker to the director's chair for what will be his first feature film since Starlet back in 2012. The director has also brought us movies such as Prince of Broadway and Take Out during his filmmaking career.

Newcomers Kitana Kiki Rodriguez and Mya Taylor are set to take on the central roles of Sin-Dee and Alexandra and are joined on the cast list by Karren Karagulian, Mickey O'Hagan, and James Ransone.

It's Christmas Eve in Tinseltown and Sin-Dee (Rodriguez) is back on the block. Upon hearing that her pimp boyfriend (Ransone) hasn't been faithful during the 28 days she was locked up, the working girl and her best friend, Alexandra (Taylor), embark on a mission to get to the bottom of the scandalous rumour.

Their rip-roaring odyssey leads them through various subcultures of Los Angeles, including an Armenian family dealing with their own repercussions of infidelity.

Tangerine is released 13th November and plays at the BFI London Film festival this weekend.
