David Ayer says that Suicide Squad is going to be like The Dirty Dozen but with supervillains.
Last week it was announced Ayer was on board to direct Suicide Squad - which is based on the DC Comic.
And Ayer has revealed that he has been looking to do a bigger movie since helming World War ii film Fury.
Speaking to Empire, the director said: "Fury whetted my appetite for a bigger canvas and this idea of world creation.
You can do amazing things as a filmmaker if you have the proper tools, and those are time and money...
I can say that it’s a Dirty Dozen with supervillains. Then I can ask the question, ‘Does a movie really need good guys?"
While no cast for Suicide Squad has been officially announced, it has been reported that Tom Hardy, Ryan Gosling, and Will Smith have all be approached for possible roles in the ensemble film.
Filming is set to get underway next year for a 2016 release.
As for Ayer, he returns to the director's chair this week as Fury hits the big screen.
Fury closed the BFI London Film Festival over the weekend and follows a tank crew during the Second World War.
Ayer has been behind films such as Sabotage and End of Watch during his career, but this would be his biggest movie and the first time that he has tackled the superhero genre.
