Steven Spielberg had admitted that he would love to direct the third Tintin movie.

The Oscar winning filmmaker enjoyed huge success last year when he brought the character to the big screen with The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn.

And while a second movie is in the pipeline it will be Peter Jackson who will be in the director’s chair, he served as producer on the first film.

Speaking to Total Film the director said: I would like to direct the third one myself, yes. Tintin was the most ‘different’ filmmaker experience of my career.

"The medium was so malleable. I could see a shot on a Monday, and make 17 change, and two Mondays later, I could see all the changes I made. I’ve never experienced anything like that before."

And while a second film is set to go ahead Spielberg says that they are not going to reveal which books the film will be based on just yet.

Spielberg has already enjoyed success this year with war time drama War Horse and Lincoln is set to be his latest project.

The movie is a biopic picture of Abraham Lincoln, which sees Daniel Day Lewis play the title role.
