Steve Guttenberg found it easy to imagine he was fighting gigantic lava-spewing spiders in his latest movie 'Lavalantula'.

Guttenberg stars as "washed up 90s action hero actor" Colton West in the monster movie, in which he has to battle the aggressive arachnids that have overrun Los Angeles.
All of his scenes with the burning bugs were on green screen as they were added with CGI later on, but Guttenberg has no problem with the shooting technique as he can adapt to any scenario.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "I find green screen to be easy, I've worked with it many times. It's acting, and acting is the same I believe in all genres. Whether it's the stage, theatre, film or television, in a green screen or on set with animals, or with people, or puppets, you're acting, you're creating real emotions with imaginary circumstances so it's really all the same.
"When you're working on a green screen and there's nothing there your imagination just takes on a different shape but it's the same imagination. You have the luxury of imagining whatever you want to be there, it's not as desperate a process as people think it is, it's actually quite generous for an actor."
Guttenberg was reunited with his 'Police Academy' co-stars Leslie Easterbrook, Marion Ramsey and Michael Winslow for the Syfy film and all of them are expected to be returning for the newly announced sequel '2 Lava 2 Lantula' - a spoof of the '2 Fast 2 Furious' title - due out in 2016.
Director Mike Mendez is expected to return for the second adventure, and Guttenberg has nothing but praise for the work the filmmaker did on the first movie.
The 'Three Men and a Baby's star said: "Mike Mendez is a terrific director, just terrific and he did a great job. He is so smart and is one of the best directors around. We're going to gaining a lot from him."
'Lavalantula' premieres in the UK on Saturday (01.08.15) at 9pm on Syfy.
