Stephen Graham

Stephen Graham says he likes taking on roles that make audiences think a bit as he finds them more interesting.

Graham has found success on the big screen in recent years with roles in the likes of This Is England and Public Enemies but he has also enjoyed TV success with Boardwalk Empire and Parade's End.

Boardwalk Empire has seen the British actor take on the role of Al Capone and he has enjoyed playing these darker characters.

Speaking to the Press Association the actor said: "The stuff I tend to choose to be a part of, something that can make people think just a bit. Just a tiny little bit.

"Because that was the great drama that I was brought up on, things that really made you just stop for a second.

"They were very entertaining and very gripping and brilliantly acted, but they also had a message behind them."

"It's great to play them kind of roles, they're much more interesting to me than Mr Darcy, do you know what I mean?"

2013 is all about making movies for Graham as he has Orthodox, Enemy of Man and Fizzy Days all in the pipeline.
