Stephen Amell

Stephen Amell reveals that he didn't find the character of Christian Grey interesting and that is why he is not starring in Fifty Shades of Grey.

The E.L. James novel is to be adapted for the big screen and Amell is just one of a whole of actors who have been linked to the central male role.

But Amell will not be taking on this part as he admits that the character didn't speak to him.

Speaking to Access Hollywood the actor said: "I didn't find [his] character to be totally redeeming," he said. "And I actually didn't find him to be that interesting."

"This is not a criticism on this particular piece of literature. This is simply, you know, I like to play roles that I find interesting.

"Jason on Hung was a prostitute, but he was kind of an interesting prostitute! Nothing about Christian Grey really spoke to me."

It was revealed yesterday that it will be Sam-Taylor Wood who will be directing the adaptation, but a cast is yet to be announced.

The likes of Ian Somerhalder, Matt Bomer and Alexander Skarsgaard have all been linked to the role of Grey.
