Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to be a mammoth smash when it hits the big screen in December, and the brand new teaser trailer has been released.
Yesterday was a day to celebrate Star Wars and it seemed only fitting that we were treated to some footage from the highly anticipated new film.
The voice over was provided by Mark Hamill - who is back as Luke Skywalker - while the trailer provided a first look at some very familiar faces.
This is only the second teaser trailer to be released for the movie - check it out:
J.J. Abrams is back in the director's chair for the film, and he is notorious on keeping his projects under lock and key. And while this new trailer whipped fans up into a frenzy and showed us some new footage from the film, it didn't give too much away.
We already knew that the characters of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Chewbacca were set to return to the franchise - so it comes as no surprise to see them pop up in this new trailer.
However, there are some exciting new additions to the cast list with the likes of Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Lupita Nyong'o all on board.
The Force Awakens comes ten years after the release of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and is set thirty years after events of Return of the Jedi.
With a new cast and a new director is looks like this much-loved franchise is going to get a new lease of life, while still staying true to the heart and the spirit of the original franchise.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is released 18th December.
