Star Wars: The Force Awakens has become the fourth highest grossing movie of all time.
The Force Awakens has dominated the global box office since its release on the 17th December and continues to move up the all-time list.
With a current gross of $1,536,330,824 billion, the movie has jumped over Fast & Furious 7 and Avengers Assemble to become the fourth highest grossing movie of all time.
The Force Awakens is the second highest-grossing movie of 2015 and is closing in on the $1,668 billion total posted by Jurassic World last summer.
The latest Star Wars instalment is now only behind Avatar, Titanic, and Jurassic World on the all-time list and could jump to third in just a few weeks.
The movie has been breaking box office records all over the place and is the quickest film to reach $1 billion in just twelve days - breaking the previous record of thirteen days set by Jurassic World.
The Force Awakens has also toppled Spectre as the UK's biggest film of 2015 as well as overtaking Avatar in the list of highest grossing UK movies of all time. With £100.1 million in the UK alone, The Force Awakens is now the second highest grossing film in the UK and is just behind Spectre's haul of £102.9 million - another record that it is sure to take.
As if that is not enough, the film has also become the second highest grossing film of all time in the U.S., knocking Titanic down into third.
The Force Awakens is set to breath new life into the Star Wars series and has been a critical hit as well as a commercial smash.
J.J. Abrams was at the helm for the first time but will not direct Episode VIII - Rian Johnson will be at the helm and has already penned the screenplay. Filming is set to get underway this year for the 2017 release. However, spin-off film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, will be released at the end of the year.
