We are going to be seeing plenty of Ewan McGregor on the big screen in 2015, and Son of a Gun is one of the first movies that we are going to be seeing him star in.
Son of a Gun will mark the directorial debut of Julius Avery, as he makes the transition from short films for the first time.
Brenton Thwaites is one of the breakthrough stars of the last twelve months, and he has a very exciting year ahead of him as he cements himself as a major acting talent. I am looking forward to seeing him return to the big screen.
A couple of brand new clips for the film have been released, and we have them for you to take a look at:
Locked up for a minor crime, 19 year old JR (Thwaites) quickly learns the harsh realities of prison life. Protection, if you can get it, is paramount. JR soon finds himself under the watchful eye of Australia's most notorious criminal, Brendan Lynch (McGregor).
But protection comes at a price; Lynch and his crew have plans for their young protégée. Upon release, JR must help secure Lynch's freedom, staging a daring prison break and joining his crew as they plan a gold heist that promises to deliver millions.
However, as things start to go wrong, a deadly game of cat and mouse ensues. JR finds himself unsure of whom he can trust and on a collision course with his former mentor.
