Snowpiercer

Snowpiercer

Snowpiercer has finally been given a U.S. release date of 27th June.

Snowpiercer will be the English speaking directorial debut of Boon Joon-Ho, and after much wrangling with The Weinstein Company, the director's cut of the film will hit the big screen.

Harvey Weinstein had wanted to cut the film down - much to the dismay of John Hurt.

But the science fiction film will finally be released this summer - a UK date has not yet been announced.

The movie is based on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob & Benjamin Legrand and Jean-Marc Rochette, and brings together a wonderful cast.

Chris Evans will lead the cast, while Jamie Bell, John Hurt, Tilda Swinton, Ed Harris and Octavia Spencer are just some of the other names on board.

Set in a future where a failed experiment to stop global warming creates an ice age that kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine.

A class system evolves on the train, but a revolution is brewing.

Fingers crossed it will not be long before we see this film in UK cinemas.
