Simon Pegg has described Star Trek Into Darkness villain as 'the enemy within'.
Pegg is set to return to the role of Scotty in the J.J. Abrams directed movie that hits the big screen next week.
While there are plenty of familiar faces on the cast list Benedict Cumberbatch is the exciting new addition as John Harrison.
Talking to SFX the actor said: "Benedict's character is a really interesting, complex one to play because he's at once an enemy and also an ally, and he's always manipulating the situation he's in."
"John Harrison is very indicative of a thing going on in society today, which is the enemy within, the idea that the threat can come from inside."
This is the second Star Trek movie from Abrams and it is set to be bigger and better than the first - and that was a great movie.
Pegg reunites with Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban and Zoe Saldana as they all reprise their roles from that 2009 film.
Star Trek Into Darkness kicks off what is a busy year for the actor as he will also be leading the cast in comedy The World's End - a movie that reunites him with director Edgar Wright.
He has also filmed the pilot for TV show Lost Angels and is currently working on Hector and the Search for Happiness, the latest movie from director Peter Chelsom.
Star Trek Into Darkness is released 9th May.
