Sicario is one of the movies to watch out for at the Cannes Film Festival over the next week or so and the first poster for the film has been unveiled.
Sicario marks the return of Denis Villeneuve - who brought us the terrific Prisoners - to the big screen as he teams up with Emily Blunt for the first time.
We love Blunt here at FemaleFirst as she is a versatile and exciting actress who is always mixing up her roles and projects - that is exactly what she has done here as she jumps into a crime drama.
Villeneuve has already shown that he can tackle gritty crime drama - I was a huge fan of Prisoners when it was released back in 2013 - and I really cannot wait to see what he delivers with this latest film.
Blunt will take on the role of FBI agent Kate Macy in the film, and is joined on the cast list by Josh Brolin, Benicio Del Toro, Jon Bernthal, Victor Garber, and Jeffrey Donovan.
In Mexico, Sicario means hitman. In the lawless border area stretching between the U.S. and Mexico, an idealistic FBI agent (Blunt) is enlisted by an elite government task force official (Brolin) to aid in the escalating war against drugs.
Led by an enigmatic consultant with a questionable past (Del Toro), the team sets out on a clandestine journey forcing Kate to question everything that she believes in order to survive.
The movie will play in competition at Cannes and will be in the running for the prestigious Palme d'Or - it could well be one of the frontrunners to win as there is a lot of excitement already around this movie.
