Independent British film, Shame, directed by award winning director Steve McQueen, today received two BAFTA nominations, Outstanding British Film and Best Actor for Michael Fassbender, and four nominations from the Evening Standard Film Awards; Best Film, Best Actor, Best Actress for Carey Mulligan and Technical  Achievement for cinematographer, Sean Bobbitt.
 
Produced by Iain Canning and Emile Sherman, Shame has been touted as the ‘Most Provocative and Compelling Film of the Year’ by critics and made over £535,000 on its UK and Irish opening.
 
Michael Fassbender commented on his BAFTA Best Actor nomination, "I'm very honoured and excited to be included in the calibre of talent in this year's Best Actor nominations."
