Seth Rogen reveals that he has happy to leave comedy behind in Steve Jobs and was glad that he didn't have to do any improvisational comedy for the film.

Rogen took on the role of Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple in the biopic Steve Jobs, which saw him star alongside Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet and work with director Danny Boyle for the first time.

And while Rogen is known for his comedy roles, he admits that it was a 'relief' to not have to provide a funny performance in the film.

Speaking to Notebook magazine, the actor said: "Improvising is really hard and it's difficult to come up with new things take after take and to try to make them funny. So it was a relief not to have to do that, quite honestly."

Steve Jobs was met with acclaim upon release in the autumn and has since gone on to be nominated for two Oscars and four Golden Globes.

And while the film and Rogen's performance has been met well, he admits that he didn't think he had landed the role because it took so long to hear back from the director.

He continued: "It was a little weird though I was very happy to do it. I didn't hear anything for ages. And I didn't want to force myself into a world I wasn't wanted in."

And we are going to be seeing plenty of Rogen on the big screen this year as he has already completed work on Zeroville, The Disaster Artist and Bad Neighbours 2.

He has also lent his voice to animation film Sausage Party, which he wrote with Evan Goldberg, Kyle Hunter, and Ariel Shaffir.

Steve Jobs is out on DVD & Blu-ray now.
