Selena Gomez thought Ethan Hawke was going to crash the car and kill her when they first drove together in their new movie 'Getaway'.
The teen star appears with the veteran actor in the action thriller - which largely takes place in a vehicle - and admits she was startled by his skills when he initially got behind the wheel.
She said: "I was terrified when Ethan drove on the first day of rehearsal. I was in the car and he was doing freaking doughnuts and I'm like, 'Oh my goodness, we haven't even started filming and I am going to die!' He said to me, 'I've never done this before'. But he knew how to drive, he was just making more scared, but it was fun."
Selena, 19, didn't get her driving licence until two years after her parents bought her a car.
Selena insists she hasn't improved much when it comes to driving and prefers to be cautious behind the wheel.
She revealed: "I got my first car, a Ford Escape, when I was 16, but I didn't have my licence. I just let it sit there for two years. When I was 18 I finally got my licence and I've been driving it ever since. I've had that car forever, but my driving hasn't improved. I don't drive well, I drive slow and safe because I am in Los Angeles, and it's crazy. I have a BMW now. That was the first nice car I got and the first people that rode in it were my grandparents."
