Elizabeth Banks is set to take on the villainous role of Rita Repulsa in Powers Rangers next year and a brand new image of her has been revealed.
We are big fans of Banks here at FemaleFirst and are looking forward to seeing her play a baddie - which is not the kind of role that we usually see her tackle.
This is the first time that Power Rangers has been brought to the big screen and is based on the hit nineties television series of the same name.
The movie will see Banks team up with filmmaker Dean Israelite for the first time, as he returns to the director's chair for the second feature film of his career. It was back in 2015 that he made his directorial debut with Project Almanac.
Dacre Montgomery, Ludi Lin, RJ Cyler, Becky G, and Naomi Scott are on board as the Red, Black, Blue, Yellow and Pink Rangers.
Elizabeth Banks and Bryan Cranston are the biggest names on the cast list as Rita Repulsa and Zordon.
The movie follows a group of high-school kids, who are infused with unique superpowers, harness their abilities in order to save the world.
A generation of kids grew up watch the Power Rangers on television and it will be interesting to see how it translates onto the big screen. Could this be the start of a big new franchise?
As for Banks, this will be the first time that we have seen her on the big screen since The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2. The actress has also been linked to a role in Rita Hayworth with a Hand Grenade and a third Pitch Perfect movie is on the horizon.
Power Rangers is released in 2017.
