We are counting down the days until the release of Doctor Strange here at FemaleFirst as it is promising to be a great new addition to the MCU.
I have to admit, I am really looking forward to seeing Benedict Cumberbatch take on the title role for the first time. Marvel has made some fantastic casting choices in recent years and I think that Cumberbatch is going to be another.
We are still going to have to wait until the end of October for Doctor Strange to hit the big screen but Marvel has released some great new images to whet your appetite. Take a look:
Doctor strange marks the return of Scott Derrickson - best known for horror films such as Sinister and Deliver Us From Evil - to the director's chair as he steps into the MCU for the first time.
Needless to say, this is set to be the biggest film of Derrickson's career to date. It will be interesting to see him put his own stamp on this well-known character.
As well as being in the director's chair, Derrickson has also teamed up with C. Robert Cargill to pen the film's screenplay, which is based on the comic book by Steve Ditko.
The director has brought together a fantastic cast as Rachel McAdams, Mad Mikkelsen, Tilda Swinton, Benedict Wong, and Chiwetel Ejiofor will all star alongside Cumberbatch.
Doctor Strange follows world-famous neurosurgeon Dr. Stephen Strange whose life changes forever after a horrific car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he is forced to look for healing, and hope, in an unlikely place... a mysterious enclave known as Kamar-Taj.
He quickly learns that this is not just a centre for healing but also the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying our reality. Before long Strange - armed with newly acquired magical powers - is forced to choose whether to return to his life of fortune and status or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence.
Doctor Strange is just one of the new Marvel franchises that are on the horizon over the next couple of years and it looks set to be another big box office success this autumn.
Doctor Strange is released 28th October.
