Charlize Theron, Mackenzie Davis, Mark Duplass, and Ron Livingston make up some of the all-star cast in what looks to be one of the funniest comedy movie releases this year, Tully. This week, a fantastic second trailer for the flick has been released from Universal Pictures, and you can now check it out below:
Promising to tell “a story about motherhood in 2018”, the film is written by Diablo Cody and directed by Jason Reitman, and sees Theron taking on the leading role of Marlo. Marlo is a mother of three, including one newborn who’s a lot of hard work, and so when she’s gifted a night nanny by her brother (Duplass), she finds herself embarking on an adventure into a world she never thought she’d see again.
At first hesitant to receive her gift, Marlo is surprised when she comes to form a unique bond with the young nanny Tully (Davis). She’s a surprising addition to the family, and whilst times can be extremely challenging with her, the pair are soon enjoying their lives alongside one another.
Already looking to be a hit thanks to reviews on aggregate website Rotten Tomatoes, Tully could be a major money maker when it comes to wider audiences and is ready to take in box office cash.
The challenge of the film is something Theron has spoken openly about, telling Variety magazine last year that it was “brutal in every sense”.
She explained: “The sugar put me in a massive depression. I was sick. I couldn’t lose the weight. I called my doctor and I said, ‘I think I’m dying!’ And he’s like ‘No, you’re 41. Calm down.’”
Tully comes to cinemas across the UK on April 20, 2018.
