Sean Astin has revealed that he does like the idea of appearing in a second Goonies film.
Earlier this year, Richard Donner revealed that he was working on a sequel to the eighties classic, and wanted to bring the original cast back together.
Astin took on the role of Mikey in the first film, and says he hopes news on a sequel is true.
Speaking to E! Online, the actor said:"My first thought when Dick [director Richard Donner] said he was doing that was like, 'Alright, maybe this time it's true!' I hope it's true.
"I certainly like the idea of doing it. I don't know if I'd be in it or not. If they really wanted us to be in it, I'm sure there would be some way to work it out."
Astin was joined on the cast list in 1985 by Josh Brolin, Jeff Cohen, Corey Feldman, Jonathan Ke Quan, Kerri Green, Martha Plimpton, and John Matuszak.
We last saw Astin on the big screen in Mom's Night Out, but he has completed work on The Dramatics, Rabbit, Out West and The Surface.
He is currently working on new television project The Strain.
